Most Wickets In WPL 2023: The Women’s Premier League’s inaugural season is set to begin play in March 2023. The first match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants on March 4 and the last match will be played on March 26 according to the WPL 2023 schedule.
At the auction for the Women’s Premier League teams, BCCI got INR 4669.99 crores. The Brabourne & DYP Stadium in Mumbai will serve as the site of all games for the WPL’s debut season in 2023.
Viacom 18 had paid INR 951 crore for the exclusive right to broadcast the inaugural women’s Premier League on TV and online over a five-year period beginning in 2023.

WPL 2023 Format
WPL Captains and Teams 2023: The Women’s Premier League team Auction saw a total bid of INR 4669.99 crores being paid to BCCI. The WPL 2023 Teams Captains are listed as follows:
- Each of the five competing clubs will play the other twice, for a total of 20 league games.
- The top-place finisher in the Women’s Premier League 2023 Points Table will advance directly to the championship game.
- The second- and third-placed teams will face off in the elimination game.
- The victor of the elimination round will advance to the Women’s Premier League final game in 2023 as the second finalist.
March will continue to be the timeframe for the WPL, according to the BCCI. The WPL may include “33-34” matches starting in the 2026 season, however the BCCI has not provided any more information on the format of the competition.
WPL 2023 Rules
The team’s composition will always be a key factor in its strength. The backup players are also acquired by each team during the auction. The Women’s Premier League 2023 Regulations are as follows:
- There is a maximum squad size of 18 players per side.
- There can never be more than six foreign players on any one team’s roster.
- A team may have a maximum of five foreign players, with four of those players coming from Full Member countries and the fifth player coming from an Associate Member country.
